Stockholm

Stockholm at it's best !

White and white and white , of course our favorite colour is white in Sweden.
The reflection of the sun and it's shadows is poetry to your eyes.
My last day is coming up, to bad i could not have stayed longer, there is just too many things to do and so many places to visit.
Some of my stops this time was,
Moonsun - where you can get a wonderful holistic facial and some good organic skincare shopping . I got lots of organic essential oils for my study.
NK - A big and smart department store. Just the perfect in house shopping for chilly days and the best place to run into all your friends.
Konstig - the most interesting bookstore specializing in art and photography
Upplandsgatan - It is really good vintage shopping. Glass , ceramic ,clothing and lots of other goodies.
J.Lindeberg - Should not forget to tell you about this menswear brand on Biblioteksgatan 6. Good looking clothing for men.Check out the site.

There is more to tell......but another day,
Gunn

Another day

Another day !

This is the view from our hotel window at Villa Kallhagen. The flat landscape you see is the frozen sea.
I would highly recommend this hotel for anyone who wants to stay in the nature, take long healthy walks and still be near the center.
It's about 15 minutes to reach the center by walk , well that's my speed.......
Easy natural rooms , friendly atmosphere and a cozy fire place in the lobby.

I am on my way to the center for some vintage shopping.

Will keep you informed,
G

Walking

I love walking !

My favorite place in Stockholm is a park or actually an island, Djurgarden.
Historically it was the royal hunting grounds and has wast forest and lawns. It is a healthy and pleasant walk. I think i have spent 9 hours on my feet today.

It could be a perfect day for a warm, caring foot bath. Mine is .....
1. Prepare a comfortable bowl with hot water ( as hot as you can take it )
2. Add a handful of ginger powder and sea salt.
3. I also add a tablespoon of sesame oil.
4. Soak for 30 minutes and carefully dry your feet.
5. I would recommend lisenorganics.com Bivax salva for your feet.
6. Finish off with clean socks.
6. Enjoy some relaxing herbal tea and get some rest.

I recommend it ,
Gunn

Just arrived

Just arrived !

I am spending a week in Stockholm , shopping, visiting family and friends. How lucky is it to arrive at the most special moment of the year , or the coldest day of the year. It was minus 26° when we arrived at the airport. That is cold !
I was told that we did not have a winter like this since 1986.
White, crisp and soft dunes. Amazingly beautiful.

I left Stockholm on my first day by train ( a bit caotic with cancelled and delayed trains ) going south to visit a very best friend, who lives in a remote place in the country. She restored an old school from the past. Love it !
We had lots of fun in the snow and it brought back some childhood memories.
When we did have real winters. We would play outdoors all day, not matter how cold it was ,we would build igloos, snowmen and going skiing and so on.
We would also travel around on slides ( mine is the children size ) , to school , to shop, to visit neigbours and sometimes we would also let a friend ride in the front.
Note, the parking-lot in the third photo.

I am enjoying it...........

Long Life

Hip Hip hurray !

One day in the future , and not the near future..... i would love to be like this amazing lady.
This photo might illustrate that my health philosophy does not hold up.

I am a big believer in healthy food , drinks ( my red wine is organic ) ,natural cosmetic and a lot of fresh air. Oh, i know ..........exercise as well, although i find it boring.
This lady looks fabulous at her birthday and note that she is lightening her cigarette before she is blowing out the candles. hi hi.....

So perhaps keeping a high spirit is the most important of all in the end of the day.

Be happy every day !

Mama mia

Mama mia !

I am counting the days. This winter never seams to come to an end.
You must agree that this photo is quite amazing. It was taken by my friend Wayne, just 3 days ago.
And it makes me think and dream of the days to come,
when i can spend some lazy days with all the unread books i am piling up and keeping for better days.
Right now, all the precoius moments i have for reading is to prioritize my Aromatherapy studing. I am quite convinced that a certificate by the summer is a must. Promise to tell you more about this subject later on.

Trust in me,
Gunn

My inspiration

My inspiration !

Denise Grunstein's photographs of her flower bouquets was my inspiration designing for the next season of the Drumohr's women's wear collection.

Denise picked these wonderful flowers in her own garden, day by day and created a special, modern naturamorte still-life and turned it into her extraordinary diary book .

She was very kind to let us exhibit her photos together with our collection in the
Bianconishowroom, where you also can purchase them.

I am just showing you a few but there are lots more on display.

Thank you, Denise.

Loro Piana

A beautiful idea !

Loro Piana was hosting a party last night in Milano's spa Termemilano.
Lots of fun and good food and happy faces, some were naked under their white terry robe after their sauna and massage. That's a nice way to spend the evening before enjoying the champagne.
This is my group of friends and their happy faces.........

Thank you, Loro Piana

Rosmarin

My new Thing !
My New Year's resolution is never about saving my money to buy a red Ferrari...
It is much more difficult than that !
Every January 1st it is about stop drinking this awfully addictive, wonderfully smelling, black concentrated drink called coffee.Normally I do well all the way through January, but by February it is back again every morning at 9.
What happend? Who put it there in front of me ?
Luckily, I've finally found a solution that works for me: rosemary infusion
Gorgeous and delicious, it gives me that "kick in the butt" I need to get going.
So, take a small piece of rosemary branch, about 10cm should be enough, and place it in a pot with a cup of water. Add a tiny pinch of salt. Bring it to boiling temperature, let sit for a few minutes - and it is ready to drink. I like it plain, but you can add some honey if you like.
Try it, it really works for me !

Happy Valentine

Happy Valentine!

But why do we dedicate only one day a year to our loved ones?
Why not every day?
Because as long as there is love in the world there is hope for a greater tomorrow.
I found this amazing heart from an artist who signed ,unfortunately to small to read.
I find it very inspiring.

Take care of your loved ones - every day,
Gunn

Winter

Celebrating to early !

What a nuisance (pain, how annoying...) to wake up to a white Christmas garden - again !

We had a lovely and hot Sunday last week and had our afternoon tea in the garden in 14° C sunshine to celebrate an early spring...
Lucky is the one who can take a plane to a warmer latitude ! Well, i am an optimistic person and still have hopes that this wonderful, beautiful, awful white snow will not be here tomorrow when i wake up.

And if it is, I promise to change my attitude and put on my Swedish skis and take a tour around the hills.
Enjoy your day,
Gunn

Paris

Paris in February

Who would ever think of going to Paris in the month of February ?
Well i did. And had a wonderful time with my friend Carina at nonchalant mom.

It is nice to be in a place off-season when there are no tourists and nor fashionistas .....
We rented an apartment and had a normal life "at home in Paris", walked for about 10 hours a day in a very cold Paris , to all our favorite places and of course i am referring to food.

If you are planning to be in Paris in any of these days i would suggest a new store called Merci.
Selling everything from flowers, interior, clothing and jewelry.
It is a very inspiring place and a great lunching spot.

Otherwise we had a very french meal at the classic Brasseri Lipp, but my favorite secret ( and i will share it with you ) is the lunch restaurant L'eclaireur , rue Hèrold, creative food and charming interiors with all the images by Fornasetti.

For somebody like me , living in the country , surrounded by green beauty, it is very healthy to breath some city air !

Un Momento Nordico

Follow me and I will tell you small stories and advise about a natural living in Italy.
I am Swedish by birth, as you already figured out seeing my name. Trained and matured in the USA and I am now an adopted citizen in the Italian north.

My normal life is about designing wonderful and beautiful clothing, mostly in cashmere. And my free time is all concentrated on living well in an effortless manner (which I never seem to master).
My house is located in a lush green surrounding, clean water and clean air. I have a handsome and fantastic Italian husband, 4 dogs and 2 cats (all of whom have tons of energy). I always say that its lucky our kitchen is too small for having a horse as well. Knowing us, he would just be spending the evenings with us in the kitchen together with all the other hungry ones. Remember I am from a Pippi Langstrump culture!
